Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: “Whoever is afflicted by hunger and then presents it before people, his hunger will never be removed; but if he presents it before Allah, soon Allah will make him self-sufficient—either he will soon receive some wealth or he will soon become self-sufficient.”
