مَنْ عَامَلَ النَّاسَ فَلَمْ يَظْلِمَهُمْ وَحَدَّثَهُمْ فَلَمْ يَكْذُبَهُمْ وَوَعَدَهُمْ فَلَمْ يُخْلِفْهُمْ، فَهُوَ مِمَّنْ كَمُلَتْ مُرُوءَتُهُ، وَظَهَرَتْ عَدَالَتُهُ، وَوَجَبَتْ أُخُوَّتُهُ، وَحَرُمَتْ غَيْبَتُهُ
Whoever deals with people without wronging them, speaks to them without lying, and fulfills his promises, his manliness is complete, his justice is apparent, his brotherhood is due, and backbiting him is forbidden

543 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ نَظِيفٍ الْفَرَّاءُ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُوسَى الرِّضَا، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ عَامَلَ النَّاسَ فَلَمْ يَظْلِمْهُمْ وَحَدَّثَهُمْ فَلَمْ يَكْذِبْهُمْ، وَوَعَدَهُمْ فَلَمْ يُخْلِفْهُمْ، فَهُوَ مِمَّنْ كَمُلَتْ مُرُوءَتُهُ، وَظَهَرَتْ عَدَالَتُهُ، وَوَجَبَتْ أُخُوَّتُهُ، وَحَرُمَتْ غَيْبَتُهُ»
Sayyiduna Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that my father, Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is appointed as a leader over the people and then does not oppress them, does not lie to them when speaking, and does not break his promise when he makes one, then such a person is among those whose dignity is complete, whose justice is manifest, whose brotherhood is obligatory, and whose backbiting is forbidden."
