مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورًا عَبَثًا جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَهُ صُرَاخٌ عِنْدَ الْعَرْشِ تَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ سَلْ هَذَا: فِيمَ قَتَلَنِي فِي غَيْرِ مَنْفَعَةٍ
Whoever kills a sparrow for no reason will come on the Day of Judgment with it crying at the Throne: O Lord, ask him why he killed me for no benefit

524 - أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُعَلِّمُ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْأَذَنِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السُّلَمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورًا عَبَثًا جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَهُ صُرَاخٌ عِنْدَ الْعَرْشِ تَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ سَلْ هَذَا فِيمَ قَتَلَنِي فِي غَيْرِ مَنْفَعَةٍ؟ "
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever kills a bird without reason, then on the Day of Resurrection that (bird) will come in such a state that it will be crying out near the Throne, saying: O my Lord! Ask him why he killed me."
