مَنْ حَاوَلَ أَمْرًا بِمَعْصِيَةٍ كَانَ أَفْوَتَ لِمَا رَجَا وَأَقْرَبَ لِمَجِيءِ مَا اتَّقَى
Whoever seeks something through disobedience will be further from what he hopes and closer to what he fears

Hadith 512
512 - أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَنْبَارِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْمِسْوَرِ ثنا مِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ حَاوَلَ أَمْرًا بِمَعْصِيَةٍ كَانَ أَفْوَتَ لِمَا رَجَا وَأَقْرَبَ لِمَجِيءِ مَا تُتَّقَى»
Al-Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever seeks to accomplish something through sin will never have his hope fulfilled; rather, he will come very close to that which he was trying to avoid."
Hadith 513
513 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَذُو النُّونِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ السُّلَمِيُّ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ حَاوَلَ أَمْرًا بِمَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى كَانَ أَفْوَتَ لِمَا رَجَا وَأَقْرَبَ لِمَجِيءِ مَا اتَّقَى»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever tries to accomplish his task through sin will never have his hope fulfilled; rather, he will come very close to that which he was trying to avoid."
