Whoever seeks people's praise by disobeying Allah, those same people will turn against him

498 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ الْبَزَّازُ، أبنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى السَّعْدِيُّ الْحَمَّارُ، ثنا قُطْبَةُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ طَلَبَ مَحَامِدَ النَّاسِ بِمَعَاصِي اللَّهِ عَادَ حَامِدُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ ذَامًا»
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks praise from people through acts of disobedience to Allah, the one who praises him will eventually become his critic."
