Hadiths 401 to 600
مَنْ أُولِيَ مَعْرُوفًا فَلَمْ يَجِدْ جَزَاءً إِلَّا الثَّنَاءَ فَقَدْ شَكَرَهُ، وَمَنْ كَتَمَهُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَهُ
Whoever is shown kindness and finds nothing to repay except praise, he has thanked him; and whoever conceals it has been ungrateful

Hadith 485
485 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الشَّاهِدُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرِ بْنُ نُفَيْلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أُولِيَ مَعْرُوفًا فَلَمْ يَجِدْ إِلَّا الثَّنَاءَ فَقَدْ شَكَرَهُ، وَمَنْ كَتَمَهُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَهُ»
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever has a favor done to him and he gives nothing in return except praise of his benefactor, then surely he has expressed gratitude to him. And whoever conceals (the benefactor’s favor), then surely he has shown ingratitude.”
Hadith 486
486 - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، نا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ أنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ لَيْثِ بْنِ مَسْرُورٍ أَبُو صَالِحٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ، نا مُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، نا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أُولِيَ خَيْرًا فَلْيَجْزِ بِهِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَقْدِرْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَلْيُثْنِ بِهِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ كَفَرَهُ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a favor done to him should repay it, and whoever is not able to do so should praise (the benefactor), and whoever does not do so has certainly shown ingratitude."
