Hadith 393
393 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ بُهْزَاذَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْإِمَامِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الصَّفَّارُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أَبْطَأَ بِهِ عَمَلُهُ لَمْ يُسْرِعْ بِهِ نَسَبُهُ» وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جَامِعٍ: «لَا يُسْرِعُ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He whom his deeds hold back, his lineage will not push him forward." And in Ibn Jami’'s hadith, instead of «لم يسرع», the words «لا يسرع» are used.
Hadith 394
394 - وأنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أنا مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْإِمَامُ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ بِهِ عِلْمًا إِلَّا سَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، وَمَنْ أَبْطَأَ بِهِ عَمَلُهُ لَمْ يُسْرِعْ بِهِ نَسَبُهُ»
Muhammad bin Ja'far, narrating with his chain of transmission, says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever sets out on a path in search of knowledge, Allah will lead him on a path to Paradise. And whoever is left behind by his knowledge, his lineage will not bring him forward."
