Hadith 392
392 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ فَهْدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ لَمْ يَنْفَعْهُ عِلْمُهُ ضَرَّهُ جَهْلُهُ، اقْرَأِ الْقُرْآنَ مَا نَهَاكَ فَإِذَا لَمْ يَنْهَكَ فَلَسْتَ تَقْرَؤُهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not benefit from his knowledge, his ignorance will harm him. Recite the Qur'an; it will restrain you. If it does not restrain you, then (it is as if) you have not recited it at all."
