مَنْ بَدَا جَفَا، وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ الصَّيْدَ غَفَلَ، وَمَنِ اقْتَرَبَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ السُّلْطَانِ افْتُتِنَ
Whoever lives in the desert becomes harsh, whoever follows hunting becomes heedless, and whoever approaches the doors of rulers is afflicted

Hadith 339
339 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْقُوبَ يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ النَّجِيرَمِيُّ، أبنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، أبنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِيهِ الْقُومَسِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ حُرٍ النَّخَعِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ بَدَا جَفَا، وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ الصَّيْدَ غَفَلَ، وَمَنِ اقْتَرَبَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ السُّلْطَانِ افْتُتِنَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever goes to live in the wilderness becomes hard-hearted, whoever pursues hunting becomes heedless, and whoever goes to the doors of rulers falls into tribulation."
