Hadith 284
284 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ هِبَةُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السَّمَرْقَنْدِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو يَعْلَى عَبْدُ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنُ خَلَفٍ النَّسَفِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَخِي عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الضِّيَافَةُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْوَبَرِ وَلَيْسَتْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَدَرِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hospitality is (obligatory) upon the villagers and not (obligatory) upon the townspeople."
