Hadith 201
201 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ فِرَاسٍ، بِالْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِبُكَيْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا حَجَّاجٌ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كُلُّ امْرِئٍ حَسِيبُ نَفْسِهِ، لِيَشْرَبُ كُلُّ قَوْمٍ فِيمَا بَدَا لَهُمْ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that when the delegation of ‘Abd al-Qays came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Every person is accountable for his own self, and every nation may drink from those (vessels) which they find suitable.”
