Hadith 183
183 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجِيزِيُّ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ، أبنا أَبُو عَمْرِو زَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَلَفٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، ثنا عَمِّي، ثنا أَبُو هَانِي، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيِّ، أَنَّ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَذَكَرَ الْخُطْبَةَ وَفِيهَا: «وَالْمُجَاهِدُ مَنْ جَاهَدَ نَفْسَهُ فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ»
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said during the Farewell Pilgrimage... and he mentioned your sermon, and in it was also this: "The true Mujahid is the one who strives against his own self in obedience to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
Hadith 184
184 - أنا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَنْبَارِيُّ، أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الرَّازِيُّ، أنا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، نا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، نا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِي الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيَّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ، رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْمُجَاهِدُ مَنْ جَاهَدَ نَفْسَهُ فِي اللَّهِ»
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The true mujahid is the one who strives against his own self in obedience to Allah Almighty."
