الْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ
The believer is one whom people trust with their wealth and lives
Hadith 130
130 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو نَصْرٍ التَّمَّارُ، قَالَ: ثنا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَيُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ وَحُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ، وَالْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ، وَالْمُهَاجِرُ مَنْ هَجَرَ السُّوءَ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ عَبْدٌ لَا يَأْمَنُ جَارُهُ بَوَائِقَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that indeed the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “A believer is one from whom people are safe, and a Muslim is one from whose hand and tongue people are secure, and an emigrant is one who abandons evil. And by Him in Whose hand is my soul, that person cannot enter Paradise whose neighbor is not safe from his harms.”
Hadith 131
131 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجِيزِيُّ قِرَاءَةً، عَلَيْهِ، أبنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو زَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَلَفٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَخِي ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، ثنا عَمِّي، ثنا أَبُو هَانِئٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيُّ، أَنَّ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ. وَذَكَرَ الْخُطْبَةُ وَفِيهَا: «وَالْمُؤْمِنُ مِنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ، وَالْمُهَاجِرُ مِنْ هَجَرَ الْخَطَايَا وَالذُّنُوبَ، وَالْمُجَاهِدُ مِنْ جَاهَدَ نَفْسَهُ فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ»
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said... and he mentioned the sermon of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and in it was also: "A believer is one from whom people are safe regarding their wealth and lives, and a migrant is one who abandons mistakes and sins, and a warrior is one who strives against his own self in obedience to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
Hadith 132
132 - أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ، أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَيْسَرَانِيُّ، أنا الْخَرَائِطِيُّ، ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى دِمَائِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A believer is one from whom people are safe regarding their blood and their wealth."
