الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْقَرَابَةِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ
Charity to relatives is charity and maintaining ties
Hadith 96
96 - أَخْبَرَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، ثنا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَهِشَامٍ وَحَبِيبٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْقَرَابَةِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Giving charity to relatives is both charity and maintaining the ties of kinship."
