الْمَسْجِدُ بَيْتُ كُلِّ تَقِيٍّ
The mosque is the house of every pious person
Hadith 72
72 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمُ يَحْيَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّوَّافُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْخَيَّاشُ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ هُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ يُونُسَ، ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ مُطْعِمِ بْنِ الْمِقْدَامِ وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ وَاسِعٍ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ إِلَى سَلْمَانَ: أَمَّا بَعْدُ يَا أَخِي فَاغْتَنِمْ صِحَّتَكَ قَبْلَ سَقَمِكَ، وَفَرَاغَكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ بِكَ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ مَا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ رَدَّهُ، وَيَا أَخِي اغْتَنِمْ دَعْوَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْمُبْتَلَى، وَيَا أَخِي وَلْيَكُنِ الْمَسْجِدُ بَيْتَكَ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْمَسْجِدُ بَيْتُ كُلِّ تَقِيٍّ»
Muhammad bin Wasi’ says that Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him): To proceed! O my brother! Consider your health as a blessing before sickness, and consider your free time as a blessing before that trial descends which no one among the people has the power to avert. O my brother! Value the supplication of that believer who is afflicted with a trial. O my brother! The mosque should be your home, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “The mosque is the home of every God-fearing person.”
Hadith 73
73 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ الْخَالِقِ الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ الْمُرِّيُّ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ سَلْمَانُ إِلَى أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ: يَا أَخِي عَلَيْكَ بِالْمَسْجِدِ فَالْزَمْهُ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْمَسْجِدُ بَيْتُ كُلِّ تَقِيٍّ»
Abu Uthman says that Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him): "O my brother! Make the mosque obligatory upon yourself, for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The mosque is the home of every God-fearing person.'"
