Hadith 44
44 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمُعَدِّلُ، ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي الدُّنْيَا، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى، عَنْ أَبِي وَكِيعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الشَّامِيِّ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «التَّحَدُّثُ بِالنَّعَمِ شُكْرٌ»
Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “To mention (Allah’s given) blessings is to show gratitude.”
Hadith 45
45 - أنا أَبُو سَعْدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَاغِنْدِيُّ وَالْمَحَامِلِيُّ، قَالَا: نا أَبُو يَحْيَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ غَالِبٍ الْعَطَّارُ، نا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، نا أَبُو وَكِيعٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ فَذَكَرَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «التَّحَدُّثُ بِنِعَمِ اللَّهِ شُكْرٌ، وَتَرْكَهَا كُفْرٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that he delivered a sermon and stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Mentioning the blessings of Allah is gratitude, and not mentioning them is ingratitude."
