Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that an old woman used to come to the Prophet (peace be upon him). He would be pleased with her and honor her. I said: "May my parents be sacrificed for you, the way you treat this old woman, you do not treat anyone else like this." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, this woman used to come to Khadijah. Do you not know that maintaining friendship is part of faith?"

Brief Explanation
Explanation: - It is understood from this that maintaining old relationships and friendships and fulfilling their requirements is also part of faith (iman), because all good deeds are signs of faith. The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, even after the passing of Sayyidah Khadijah radi Allahu anha, not only remembered her but also took care of her friends and used to send them gifts and presents.
Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha narrates that an old woman came to the service of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam while he was with me. He said to her, “Who are you?” She replied, “I am from Juthamah Muzaynah.” He said, “Rather, you are from Hasnanah Muzaynah. How are you? How have you been after us?” She said, “O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, we are well.” When she left, I said, “O Messenger of Allah! You welcomed this old woman with such warmth?” He replied, “Indeed, she used to come to us during the time of Khadijah, and indeed, maintaining friendship is part of faith.” [حاكم : 115 ، وسنده حسن]
Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha also narrates that whenever the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam slaughtered a goat, he would prepare its meat and send it to the friends of Sayyidah Khadijah radi Allahu anha. [بخاري : 3818]
Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha further narrates that once the sister of Sayyidah Khadijah radi Allahu anha, Halah bint Khuwaylid, sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. The Prophet remembered the manner in which Sayyidah Khadijah radi Allahu anha used to seek permission, and he was startled and said, “It is Halah!” Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha says: I felt jealous at this, and I said, “You keep mentioning an old woman from the Quraysh whose gums have become red due to the loss of her teeth, and who has long since passed away, while Allah has given you a better wife than her.” [بخاري : 3821]
