Brief Explanation
Explanation:
For those who yearn for righteousness, this hadith is extremely encouraging. Now, no poor person can say that he does not have the means to give charity and alms, because the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has declared every good deed to be charity, whether it pertains to speech or action. Whatever good deed it is, its reward is just like spending wealth in the way of Allah Ta'ala. Now, observe a few ahadith in this regard:

① "Do not consider any act of goodness insignificant, even if you meet your brother with a cheerful face." [مسلم : 2626]

② It is obligatory to give charity for every joint of a person daily. Reconciling between two people is charity, helping a man with his mount so that you help him ride it or lift his belongings onto it is also charity, speaking a good word is charity, every step you take towards prayer is charity, and removing something harmful from the road is also charity. [بخاري : 2989 ومسلم : 1009]

③ Every tasbih (saying 'SubhanAllah') is charity, every takbir (saying 'Allahu Akbar') is charity, every tahmid (saying 'Alhamdulillah') is charity, every tahlil (saying 'La ilaha illallah') is charity, enjoining good is charity, forbidding evil is charity, and your having intercourse with your wife is also charity. The Companions radi Allahu anhum asked: O Messenger of Allah! If one of us fulfills his desire, will he have a reward for it? He replied: "Tell me, if he were to fulfill it in a forbidden way, would he not bear a sin? In the same way, when he fulfills it in a lawful way, he will have a reward." [مسلم : 1006]

④ Lending someone a she-camel that gives abundant milk, or lending a goat that fills a vessel with milk morning and evening, is also among the best forms of charity. [بخاري : 5608]

⑤ Whoever among the Muslims plants a tree or cultivates a field, and then a bird or an animal eats from it, it is charity for him. [بخاري : 6012]

And in another narration, whatever is stolen from it is also charity. [مسلم : 1552]

⑥ "Your smiling at your brother, enjoining good, forbidding evil, guiding a person who has lost his way, helping a blind person, removing a stone, thorn, or bone (etc.) from the road, and pouring water from your bucket into your brother's bucket are all acts of charity." [الترمذي : 1956وسنده حسن]
