Brief Explanation
Explanation:
From this hadith, it is understood that it is not permissible for a wealthy person or such a healthy and strong individual who is capable of earning to take charity (sadaqah). Ubaydullah bin Adi narrates that two men informed him that they presented themselves before the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) during the Farewell Pilgrimage (Hajjat al-Wada‘) while he was distributing charity. They requested charity from him, so he looked up at us and, seeing us strong, said: "If you wish, I can give it to you, but there is no share in it for a wealthy person or for one who is capable of earning."
