867 - نا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْفَارِسِيُّ، لَفْظًا فِي كِتَابِهِ نا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ شَاذَانَ، بِقِرَاءَتِي عَلَيْهِ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ دُرُسْتَوَيْهِ، نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، نا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الْكِلَابِيُّ، نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ جُنْدُبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يُذِلَّ نَفْسَهُ» ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ يُذِلُّ نَفْسَهُ؟ قَالَ: «أَنْ يَتَعَرَّضَ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ لِمَا لَا يُطِيقُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not befitting for a believer to humiliate himself." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah! How can he humiliate himself? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He exposes himself to trials which he cannot bear."
