Brief Explanation
Explanation:
Being grateful for someone’s kindness and favor is among the good human virtues; it expresses the purity and sincerity of the grateful person’s heart. Moreover, it costs nothing—one only needs to move one’s lips. Now, whoever cannot even do this, everyone will think of him as someone who is neither civilized nor pure-hearted. In one sense, gratitude towards people is also gratitude towards Allah, but a person who is habitually ungrateful to people can never become truly grateful to Allah ta‘ala.
