Hamzah bin Abdullah says that we set out towards the land of Sham to beg, and when we came to Madinah, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Are you going to Sham to beg? Whereas I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A servant keeps begging until he meets Allah (on the Day of Resurrection he will meet Allah) in such a state that there will not be a piece of flesh on his face." Imam Muslim has also narrated this with his chain in a marfu' form: One of you keeps begging until he meets Allah (on the Day of Resurrection he will meet Him) in such a state that there will not be a piece of flesh on his face.

Brief Explanation
Explanation: In these ahadith as well, the condemnation of asking from people is mentioned—that the person who, without any genuine need, merely for the sake of financial gain, begs and constantly extends his hand before people, will face humiliation and disgrace in the plain of resurrection on the Day of Judgment. As a punishment, there will be no flesh on his face; his countenance will be extremely ugly and disfigured; he will wander among the people of the gathering in a state of humiliation and disgrace.
