مَا ذِئْبَانِ ضَارِيَانِ فِي زَرِيبَةِ غَنَمٍ بِأَسْرَعَ فِيهَا مِنْ حُبِّ الشَّرَفِ وَالْمَالِ فِي دِينِ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِNo two hungry wolves set loose among sheep are more destructive than love of honor and wealth to a man's religion

812 - وَأَنَاهُ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ التُّجِيبِيُّ، نا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْقَزْوِينِيُّ مِنْ لَفْظِهِ قَالَ: نا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ السِّمْسَارُ، نا قُطْبَةُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، نا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا ذِئْبَانِ ضَارِيَانِ فِي حَظِيرَةٍ وَثِيقَةٍ يَأْكُلَانِ وَيَفْرِسَانِ بِأَسْرَعَ فِيهَا مِنْ حُبِّ الشَّرَفِ وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ مِنْ دِينِ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two ravenous wolves, let loose among a flock of sheep in a strong enclosure, do not cause as much harm quickly as the love of wealth and status does to a Muslim's religion."
