787 - أنا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدُونٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، أنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، نا أَبُو بَدْرٍ، عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، نا قُرَّةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، نا بَحْرٌ السَّقَّاءُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا تَرَكْتُ بَعْدِي فِتْنَةً أَضَرُّ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ»
Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have not left any trial more harmful to men after me than women."

Women have been declared a great harm and dangerous trial (fitnah) for men because most of the corruption and evils in religion and worldly affairs arise due to women. Despite being deficient in intellect and religion, they compel men to commit such acts that result in harm to both their religion and worldly life. Because of women, mutual enmity, quarrels, and even bloodshed begin, thus destroying the peace and tranquility of society. Becoming entangled in love and infatuation for women, a person starts committing acts contrary to the Shari‘ah and gradually distances himself from religion. The noble statement of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is: “The world is sweet and lush, and indeed Allah is going to make you successors in it, so He will see how you act. Beware of the world and beware of the trial (fitnah) of women, for the first trial of the Children of Israel was caused by women.” [مسلم : 2742]
