762 - أَخْبَرَنَا هِبَةُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، أبنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ , عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «مَا جَاءَ بِكَ؟» ، قُلْتُ: جِئْتُ لِأُسْلِمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: فَبَسَطَ لِي رِدَاءَهُ، وَقَالَ: «إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: "What brings you here?" I said: O Messenger of Allah! I have come to accept Islam. He says that the Prophet spread his cloak for me and said: "When an honorable person from any people comes to you, honor him."
