Brief Explanation
Explanation:
In this hadith, guidance is provided regarding weighing and measuring, that when giving goods, as a precaution, give a little extra so that no one has any claim against you. When giving the exact amount, there is a possibility of shortfall in the measure, therefore, give more so that there remains no possibility of deficiency. Furthermore, Islamic brotherhood and compassion also demand that you give the rightful person a little more than his due. Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu says, "I came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in the mosque, so he paid me the price (of my camel) and gave me extra as well." [بخاري : 2603]
Sayyiduna Abu Safwan bin Umayyrah radi Allahu anhu says, "Before the Hijrah, I sold a pair of trousers to the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and he gave me (its price in gold, silver, or grain, etc.) by weighing it out for me, and he bent down while weighing." [ابن ماجه : 2221 ، صحيح]
