Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O boy! Guard (the commands of) Allah, Allah will guard you. Guard (the rights of) Allah, you will find Him before you. Recognize Him in times of ease, He will recognize you in times of hardship. And know that whatever has reached you could not have missed you, and whatever has missed you could not have reached you. And know that if all of creation were to gather together to benefit you with something that Allah has not decreed for you, they would not be able to do so. Or if they were to gather to harm you with something that Allah has not decreed for you, they would not be able to do so. And when you ask, ask Allah. And when you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know that indeed help comes with patience, relief comes with affliction, and with hardship comes ease. And know that whatever is to happen, the pen has already written it.”

Brief Explanation
Benefit: - Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu says that one day I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, when he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "O boy! I am going to teach you some important matters: Safeguard (the commands of) Allah, Allah will safeguard you. Safeguard (the rights of) Allah, you will find Him before you. When you ask, then ask from Allah. And when you seek help, then seek help from Allah. And know this: if the entire ummah were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not be able to benefit you with anything except what Allah has already written for you; and if they were to gather together to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with anything except what Allah has already written for you. (And) the pens have been lifted (i.e., the writing is complete), and the pages have dried." [ترمذي : 3516 ، وسنده صحيح]
