740 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْفَتْحِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْحَمْرَاوِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْآجِرِيُّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ، ثنا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْغَسَّانِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أُوصِيكَ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ رَأْسُ أَمْرِكَ، وَعَلَيْكَ بِالْجِهَادِ فَإِنَّهُ رَهْبَانِيَّةُ أُمَّتِي، وَلِيَرُدَّكَ عَنِ النَّاسِ مَا تَعْرِفُ عَنْ نَفْسِكِ، وَاخْزِنْ لِسَانَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّكَ بِذَلِكَ تَغْلِبُ الشَّيْطَانَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "I advise you to adopt the fear of Allah, for it is the foundation of your deeds, and make jihad obligatory upon yourself, for it is the monasticism of my ummah. And what you know about yourself (your faults, etc.) should prevent you from (speaking ill of) people, and keep your tongue restrained except for saying good, for by doing so you will overcome Satan."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to a man: “I advise you to adopt taqwa (fear and consciousness) of Allah, and to say takbir (Allahu Akbar) whenever you ascend to a height.” [ابن ماجه : 2771 ، وسنده حسن]
