Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said... and he narrated this hadith: "Remove harmful things from the path of the Muslims; your good deeds will increase."
Benefit: Sayyiduna Abu Barzah radi Allahu anhu submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Command me to do an action which I may perform. You sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Remove harmful things from the path; this will be charity (sadaqah) for you.” [أحمد 424/4 ، وسنده صحيح]
Sayyiduna Abu Barzah radi Allahu anhu submitted: O Messenger of Allah! I do not know, perhaps you will depart (from this world) and I will remain after you, so please tell me some provision for the Hereafter by which Allah may benefit me. So the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Do this, and remove harmful things from the path.” [مسلم : 2618]
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “A man was going somewhere and saw a branch full of thorns on the path; he removed it from the path, and Allah, (just) on account of this, became pleased with him and forgave him.” [بخاري : 652]
