725 - أَخْبَرَنَا هِبَةُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَجَافُوا عَنْ عُقُوبَةِ ذَوِي الْمُرُوءَةِ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ حَدًّا»
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When it is not a matter of a prescribed legal punishment, then refrain from punishing people of dignity."
