Brief Explanation
Explanation: - Two points are understood from this hadith: ① In matters of food and drink invitations, one should, as much as possible, strive to ensure that righteous and pious people participate, as it is mentioned in a hadith: “Keep the company of only a believer, and let only a God-fearing (muttaqi) person eat your food.” [أبو داود : 2832 ، وسنده صحيح] However, if there is a need, sinners may also be invited, because according to the scholars, the food referred to here is the food of invitation, not food of necessity. In the case of food of necessity, there is no distinction, as Allah the Exalted says: ﴿وَيُطْعِمُونَالطَّعَامَعَلَىٰحُبِّهِمِسْكِينًاوَيَتِيمًاوَأَسِيرًا ﴾ (Al-Dahr: 8) “And they give food, out of love for Him, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.” Here, the orphan, the needy, and the captive refer to all kinds of people. ② Goodness and virtue should be shown to all Muslims, whether they are pious or not, because Islam has taught kindness and good conduct towards everyone.
