Brief Explanation
Benefit: It is narrated from Hammam bin Harith that a person began to praise Sayyiduna Uthman radi Allahu anhu. Sayyiduna Miqdad radi Allahu anhu, who was of heavy build, sat down on his knees and began to throw pebbles at that person's face. Sayyiduna Uthman radi Allahu anhu said: "What are you doing?" He replied: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: 'When you see those who praise (others) in their presence, then throw dust on their faces.'" [مسلم : 3002]
