Brief Explanation
Explanation: In this hadith, miserliness and stinginess have been condemned. This is such a dangerous disease that it destroyed the people before us, and indeed, the reality is that when the love of wealth and riches exceeds its limits within a person, then he descends to baseness. In such a state, the distinction between lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram) disappears; he does not even refrain from shedding the blood of others. It is evident that when a society reaches such a condition, there is no guarantee for its survival; it can be faced with destruction at any moment, just as happened with previous nations. They began to seize each other's wealth, wars broke out, tribulations appeared, sanctities were violated—this was their destruction and ruin in this world, while the ruin of the Hereafter is deprivation from Paradise and entry into Hell.
Allah Ta‘ala says: ﴿وَلَايَحْسَبَنَّالَّذِينَيَبْخَلُونَبِمَاآتَاهُمُاللَّهُمِنفَضْلِهِهُوَخَيْرًالَّهُمبَلْهُوَشَرٌّلَّهُمْسَيُطَوَّقُونَمَابَخِلُوابِهِيَوْمَالْقِيَامَةِوَلِلَّهِمِيرَاثُالسَّمَاوَاتِوَالْأَرْضِوَاللَّهُبِمَاتَعْمَلُونَخَبِيرٌ ﴾ (Aal Imran: 180) "And let not those who are miserly with what Allah has given them out of His bounty ever think that it is good for them; rather, it is bad for them. Soon, on the Day of Resurrection, that with which they were miserly will be hung around their necks. And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is fully aware of what you do."
