Brief Explanation
Explanation:
In these hadiths, the command to partake in suhoor (pre-dawn meal) has been given. The scholars state that this command regarding suhoor is recommended (mustahabb) and for guidance. It is neither obligatory (fard) nor compulsory (wajib), such that one who leaves it would be considered sinful, because it is established from authentic hadiths that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also observed continuous fasting (wisal), and the fasts of wisal are precisely those in which suhoor is not taken. Therefore, the aforementioned command is for excellence and recommendation, not for obligation. In any case, there is much encouragement for suhoor.

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The difference between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is the taking of suhoor.” [مسلم : 1099]

He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also said: “Indeed, there is blessing in suhoor which Allah has granted you, so do not abandon it without reason.” [نسائي : 2164 ، وسنده صحيح]

In another hadith it is stated: “Partake in the meal of suhoor, for indeed it is blessed.” [ايضاً : 2166 وسند ه صحيح]

The meal of suhoor has been described as blessed because:
① There is a special blessing from Allah in the food eaten at that time.
② It makes the completion of the fast easier.
③ The fasting person gains enough strength to show vigor in other acts of worship.
④ The time of suhoor is extremely suitable; by waking up for suhoor, one can also benefit from those blessed moments for supplication and seeking forgiveness.
⑤ One attains the congregational Fajr prayer.
