Hadith 644

644 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الصَّفَّارُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِهَابٍ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ سُعَيْرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ: «كُنَّ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ كَأَنَّكَ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ، وَعَدَّ نَفْسَكَ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْقُبُورِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and said: "Live in this world as if you are a stranger or a traveler, and count yourself among the people of the graves."

Brief Explanation
Benefit:
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu says that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam took hold of my shoulder and said: "Live in this world as if you are a stranger or a traveler." And Sayyiduna Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu used to say: "When you reach the evening, do not wait for the morning, and when you reach the morning, do not wait for the evening. And take (something) from your health for your illness, and from your life for your death." [بخاري : 6416]
