كُنَّ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ كَأَنَّكَ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ، وَعَدَّ نَفْسَكَ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْقُبُورِBe in this world as if you are a stranger or a traveler, and count yourself among the inhabitants of the graves

644 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الصَّفَّارُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِهَابٍ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ سُعَيْرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ: «كُنَّ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ كَأَنَّكَ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ، وَعَدَّ نَفْسَكَ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْقُبُورِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and said: "Live in this world as if you are a stranger or a traveler, and count yourself among the people of the graves."
