Brief Explanation
Explanation: In these hadiths, the command to intercede (make recommendations) has been given, and this act has been described as a means of attaining reward. Allah Ta'ala says:
"Whoever intercedes with a good intercession will have a share of it, and whoever intercedes with an evil intercession will have a portion of its burden, and Allah is Guardian over all things."
Based on this noble verse, the scholars have described two types of intercession:
① Shafa‘at Hasanah (Good Intercession): To intercede for someone in matters of benefit in religion or worldly affairs, from which people gain benefit and no one is harmed.
② Shafa‘at Sayyi’ah (Evil Intercession): To intercede in matters of disobedience and sin, or to intercede in promoting innovation (bid‘ah), or to intercede in oppressing others and depriving someone of their rightful due.
The former type of intercession is recommended (mustahabb) and there is reward for it, while the latter type of intercession is forbidden (haram) and there is sin in it. Regarding the virtues and rulings of intercession, there is an excellent compilation by Prince Naif bin Mamdouh Al Saud, which has also been published in Urdu translation under the title "Intercede and Attain Reward." It is beneficial for those of refined taste.
