It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "He has succeeded who has been guided to Islam, whose livelihood is sufficient for his needs, and who is content with what he has been given."

Brief Explanation
Explanation: The true success for a human being is that he attains salvation from Hell and entry into Paradise; there is no greater success than this. If, Allah forbid, the matter is reversed—meaning deprivation from Paradise and entry into Hell—then this is the greatest failure. It is stated in the Noble Qur’an: 1 "Every soul shall taste death, and you will only be given your full recompense on the Day of Resurrection. So whoever is kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he has indeed succeeded. And the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion." And it is also a reality that the one who is successful in the Hereafter is also successful in the worldly sense, even if people consider him unsuccessful; and the one who is unsuccessful in the Hereafter is also unsuccessful in the worldly sense, even if people consider him successful. Now, the only means of being saved from this worldly and otherworldly failure and attaining success is Islam. Whoever is granted the wealth of Islam and molds his life according to the Islamic framework, and instead of running after the world, is content with sufficient provision (kafaf), he is the most successful person in both this world and the Hereafter. For him, there are glad tidings and good news of Paradise upon Paradise. Allahumma aj‘alna minhum (O Allah, make us among them).
