610 - أَخْبَرَنَا هِبَةُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، أبنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ بُنْدَارٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا ابْنُ حِمْيَرٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يُبْصِرُ أَحَدُكُمُ الْقَذَى فِي عَيْنِ أَخِيهِ وَيَدَعُ الْجِذْعَ فِي عَيْنِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One of you sees the speck in his brother's eye but leaves the beam in his own eye."

In this blessed hadith, the person who seeks out the faults of others has been condemned, and what a beautiful phrase has been stated: the fault-finder can see even a tiny speck in the eyes of others, but does not see the beam in his own eye. One should first look into one’s own collar (i.e., examine oneself) before speaking about others. It is evident that a person who seriously reflects upon his own condition will never speak ill of others.
Never did I look upon my own sins,
Always searching for the faults and virtues of others.
But since I have seen my own sins,
No one else appears evil in my sight.
