Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The son of Adam grows old, but two things in him remain young: the desire for wealth and the desire for a long life." Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated it from Yahya bin Yahya, Sa'id bin Mansur, and Qutaybah bin Sa'id, and all of them narrated from Abu 'Awanah (may Allah have mercy on him) with a similar narration.

Brief Explanation
Explanation: - The meaning is that no matter how old a person becomes, the greed and love for wealth and a long life never leave him. A person may reach the extreme of old age, but the love for these things remains just as it was. In one hadith it is stated: "The heart of an old person remains (always) young in the love of two things: the love of a long life and the love of wealth." [مسلم : 1046]
