مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَرَأَى خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَلْيُكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، ثُمَّ لِيَفْعَلَ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌWhoever swears an oath and sees better than it, let him expiate his oath and do what is better

516 - أنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، نا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَمُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالُوا: أنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَرَأَى غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَلْيَأْتِ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ وَلْيُكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ»
Abdur Rahman bin Udhainah, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from his father that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever swears an oath regarding something and then sees a better alternative, he should choose the better alternative and offer expiation for his oath."
