مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ سَرِيرَةٌ صَالِحَةٌ أَوْ سَيِّئَةٌ نَشَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهَا رِدَاءً يُعْرَفُ بِهِWhoever has a good or bad inner state, Allah will make it known by a garment by which he is recognized

511 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، تُرَابُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النَّاصِحِ بْنِ الْمُفَسِّرِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ سَرِيرَةٌ صَالِحَةٌ أَوْ سَيِّئَةٌ نَشَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهَا رِدَاءً يُعْرَفُ بِهِ»
Abu Abdur Rahman Salami (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I heard him say on the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person's good or bad deed is hidden, Allah manifests a sign of it upon him by which he is recognized."
