مَنْ طَلَبَ عَمَلَ الدُّنْيَا بِعَمَلِ الْآخِرَةِ فَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنْ نَصِيبٍWhoever seeks worldly gain through deeds of the Hereafter will have no share in the Hereafter

484 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ , عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ طَلَبَ عَمَلَ الدُّنْيَا بِعَمَلِ الْآخِرَةِ فَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنْ نَصِيبٍ»
Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks worldly gain in exchange for work meant for the Hereafter, he will have no share in the Hereafter."
Brief Explanation
Benefit:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b radi Allahu anhu that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Give glad tidings to this Ummah of honor and elevation, (Allah's) help, and sovereignty. But whoever among them does a deed of the Hereafter for the sake of this world, then he will have no share in the Hereafter." [أحمد : 5/ 134 ، وسنده حسن]
