457 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الشَّاهِدُ، ثنا أَبُو الطَّيِّبِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي حَمْزَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حَفْصًا النَّجَّارَ، إِمَامَ مَسْجِدِ وَاسِطَ يَقُولُ: ثنا عَنْبَسَةُ الْحَدَّادُ، ثنا مَكْحُولٌ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever grows old in the state of Islam, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection."
Brief Explanation
Benefit:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar radi Allahu anhu that indeed the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Do not pluck out white hairs, for they are a light (nur) for the Muslim. Whoever grows old in Islam, Allah writes for him, because of them, one good deed, erases one sin, and raises him one degree.” [أحمد : 2/ 210 ، وسنده صحيح]
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab radi Allahu anhu reports that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever grows old in Islam, it will be a light (nur) for him on the Day of Resurrection.” [صحيح ابن حبان : 2983 ، وسنده صحيح]
