مَنْ أَحَبِّ دُنْيَاهُ أَضَرَّ بِآخِرَتِهِ، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ آخِرَتَهُ أَضَرَّ بِدُنْيَاهُWhoever loves this world harms his Hereafter, and whoever loves his Hereafter harms his world

418 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُلَاقٍ، ثنا خَيْرُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ , عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ أَحَبَّ دُنْيَاهُ أَضَرَّ بِآخِرَتِهِ، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ آخِرَتَهُ أَضَرَّ بِدُنْيَاهُ، فَآثِرُوا مَا يَبْقَى عَلَى مَا يَفْنَى»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever loves his worldly life harms his Hereafter, and whoever loves his Hereafter harms his worldly life. So give preference to that which is everlasting (the Hereafter) over that which is perishing (the world)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Whoever seeks the world has harmed his Hereafter, and whoever seeks the Hereafter has harmed his world." He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "So, let the perishing (world) be sacrificed for the sake of the everlasting (Hereafter)." [الزهد لابن ابي عاصم : 161 ، وسنده حسن]
