40 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا السَّوَّارُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَضْلُ الْعِلْمِ أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الْعِبَادَةِ، وَمِلَاكُ الدِّينِ الْوَرَعُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The virtue of knowledge is superior to worship, and the capital of religion is piety.”
