Hadith 396

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that indeed the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever is appointed to the position of judge has truly been slaughtered without a knife."

Brief Explanation
Explanation: -
“He to whom the office of judge is given, it is as if he has been slaughtered without a knife.” When slaughtered with a knife, the slaughtered animal does not suffer as much as it does when slaughtered without a knife. In this hadith, the real intent is to warn against the desire to become a judge (qadi), because whoever becomes a judge puts his life and his faith at risk: if he judges correctly, the people of the world will become displeased and turn against him, and if he judges incorrectly, there is punishment in the Hereafter. Therefore, whoever becomes a judge or desires the office of judgment is putting his life and faith in destruction, as if he is presenting himself to be slaughtered without a knife.
