385 - وأنا قَاضِي الْقُضَاةِ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، نا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ الْمُفَسِّرِ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَاضِي، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ , عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي خُرْفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ»
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever visits a sick person remains in the harvest of Paradise until he returns."

In this hadith, the virtue of visiting the sick is described: when a person sits with his Muslim brother to visit him during illness, it is as if he is sitting among the fruits of Paradise for that duration, meaning that reward and the mercy of Allah continue to descend upon him. In the blessed hadith it is stated: "Whoever visits a sick person has immersed himself in the mercy of Allah, and when he sits with him, it is as if he has made a permanent abode in that mercy."
