382 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْفَتْحِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الزُّهْرِيُّ، بِبَغْدَادَ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، قَالَ: قَرَأْنَا عَلَى مَعْقِلِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ فَطَّرَ صَائِمًا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever gives iftar to a fasting person, he will have a reward equal to that (fasting person)."

In this blessed hadith, the virtue of providing iftar (meal to break the fast) is mentioned, that for the one who provides iftar, there is an equal reward with Allah Ta'ala as for the one who is fasting, and there will be no decrease in the reward of either of them. As it is stated in the hadith, whoever provides iftar to a fasting person will receive a reward equal to that (of the fasting person), and there will be no decrease in their rewards.
