Brief Explanation
Explanation: -
Trimming the moustache is among the natural practices (fitrah). There is a blessed hadith that five things are from the fitrah: trimming the moustache, plucking the armpit hair, cutting the nails, cleaning the hair below the navel (pubic hair), and performing circumcision (khitan). [بخاري : 5888 ترمذي : 2756]

By declaring these acts as fitrah, one meaning is that a sound human nature demands them, and also that Allah Ta'ala has commanded every prophet regarding these matters. Therefore, both fitrah (natural disposition) and shari'ah (Islamic law) require that a person accept these commands and act upon them. If the moustache becomes too long, it naturally begins to cause a sense of disgust in a person, and furthermore, large moustaches come into contact with food and drink, causing dirty germs to enter the stomach, which become the cause of many diseases. Therefore, they should be trimmed regularly. Whoever does not do so, there is a warning for him that he is not from among us.
