مَنِ اشْتَاقَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ سَارَعَ إِلَى الْخَيْرَاتِ، وَمَنْ أَشْفَقَ مِنَ النَّارِ لَهَا عَنِ الشَّهَوَاتِ، وَمَنْ تَرَقَّبَ الْمَوْتَ لَهَا عَنِ اللَّذَّاتِ، وَمَنْ زَهِدَ فِي الدُّنْيَا هَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَصَائِبُWhoever longs for Paradise hastens to good deeds, whoever fears the Fire restrains himself from desires, whoever anticipates death restrains himself from pleasures, and whoever renounces the world finds calamities easy

348 - أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدُوسٍ، ثنا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الطَّيِّبِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ الْعُرَنِيُّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْوَصَّافِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ الْأَعْوَرِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنِ اشْتَاقَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ سَارَعَ إِلَى الْخَيْرَاتِ، وَمَنْ أَشْفَقَ مِنَ النَّارِ لَهَا عَنِ الشَّهَوَاتِ، وَمَنْ تَرَقَّبَ الْمَوْتَ لَهَا عَنِ اللَّذَّاتِ، وَمَنْ زَهِدَ فِي الدُّنْيَا هَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَصَائِبُ»
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever longs for Paradise hastens towards good deeds, and whoever fears Hell becomes indifferent to desires, and whoever keeps death in mind becomes unconcerned with pleasures, and whoever is disinterested in the world finds calamities easy to bear."
